Testing Testing 1, 2, 3

Everyone's first blog is pretty interesting. It can be either fun and interesting, or it can be dreadful and awkward. For me, its a little bit of both. I have never blogged before, so i am excited for the new form of publishing and online interactions. However, i have never been a person to publicly share there life story. With that said, i feel limited with the content i publish.

This semester i am taking "Intro to Advertising" at San Jose State. For the first homework assignment, the class was asked to create a post about what excites, moves, and disgusts us about advertising.

Being a graphic design major, i am infatuated in different designs and mediums used to develop visual displays such as advertisements. I am excited about advertisements which not only successfully put a message across to the viewer, but also incorporate artistic skills to create. For example, Apple. Apple uses very simple and clean designs in their advertisements which represent the idea of there product. Advertisements such as these move me to be apart of the design and advertising business as a career.

While i am very interested in the majority of advertisements i see, there are few advertisements i do not have interest in. For example, advertisements that portray false images such as diet commercials or make-up adds. These types of advertisements are the reason why there are many insecure and suicidal children in America. These types of advertisements disgust me.
